It finally here! Mommy Makeup is officially out in the wild. I’ve been thinking about creating a space for my ramblings for ages, and here we are. No pink, no glitter, no fluff. Just me, a 40-something year old makeup artist, mom, and human trying to make sense of this whole “adulting while aging” thing.

I want to make it clear: this isn’t your typical beauty blog. You won’t find “how to contour your face into an entirely new person” tutorials here. I’m not here to tell you what you should look like. I’m here to talk about real life: the busy, chaotic, imperfect, and sometimes overwhelming stage we’re all in. The one where you’re balancing careers, kids, partners, parents, side hustles, appointments, and your sanity…all while wondering when you last drank water.

Somewhere along the way, the beauty industry decided that “aging gracefully” meant “pretending you’re not aging at all.” Botox, filler, lasers, all the procedures, layers upon layers of makeup to “hide” it all. And listen, I’m not judging anyone who goes that route (you do you!), but I’m over the idea that we need to erase every sign of the authentic life we’ve lived.

Here’s what you’ll find here:
💄 Practical makeup tips that actually fit into your busy day. Not the the makeup tips that require a fully outfitted vanity plus 2 hours of free time (because who has that?).
💬 Honest conversations about this phase of life: adulthood, motherhood, work, identity, relationships, and the occasional midlife meltdown.
🌈 An inclusive, judgment-free space because beauty doesn’t belong to one gender, one look, or one version of “perfect.”

This space isn’t about perfection; it’s about realness. It’s about showing up as yourself, your authentic self while feeling confident. It’s for anyone who’s tired of being told to hide, shrink, or filter their age or their story.

So grab your drink/vice of choice (coffee, wine, joint, edible or all of the above – I don’t judge) and hang out with me. Let’s talk about makeup, life, aging, and everything in between…with a little humor, a lot of honesty, and zero pink glitter.

Welcome to Mommy Makeup.
Let’s redefine what it means to feel beautiful, on OUR own terms.

Val
